Cosmetic dentistry treatments
Under the banner of cosmetic dentistry, we are pleased to offer our patients appointments for teeth whitening, Invisalign, crowns, veneers, and cosmetic bonding. Of course, these treatments often have functional benefits as well as cosmetic benefits. Sometimes our patients want to utilise more than one of these cosmetic dentistry treatments to improve the appearance of their smiles. Facial aesthetics
When it comes to facial aesthetics, we at PS Dental Care have anti-wrinkle treatment in the form of Botox and dermal fillers. Botox is the shortened name for the protein botulinum toxin, and it is used to target muscles around the sides of the eyes (where the crow's feet appear) around the mouth (where smokers’ lines appear) and on the forehead and between the eyes (where frown lines may be seen).
Botox causes a temporary reduction in the contractions of the muscles in these locations and, in turn, smoothes out the wrinkles in the area. It is quite a quick procedure, and we find that some patients may come to our dentist Soho and have it done during a break at work if they work in the city centre.
Alongside Botox, we also offer treatment dermal fillers, a treatment that uses hyaluronic acid gels to plump up the face to rejuvenate a youthful appearance. As we grow older, we lose the plumpness of youth because the skin's natural hyaluronic acid diminishes over time; this can create a more hollow look associated with age and lend itself to the appearance of wrinkles and lines. By using dermal fillers to refill these areas with hyaluronic acid gel, we can renew that youthful appearance. Dermal fillers can also be utilised to enhance features such as the lips or shape particular facial features depending on what the goals are.
